My Second Planted Tank
My initial plan of setting up this tank is to participate in ADA aquascaping competition.
But I’ve decided give up due to my busyness and I got no time to maintain it well.
I am pretty happy with my composition, hmm .. what you guys think?
Tank Data :
3 months ( photos were took on Jan 2008 )
Dimension ( cm ) : 150(w) x 60(d) x 60(h)
Substrate : ADA Amazonia, white sand.
CO2 : 5 bps with Solenoid
Lights : 4 x 40 watt fluorescent, 2 x 54 watt T5HO. 7 hours
Temperature : 16 ~ 17 c ( control with 2 DC fan )
Filter : 1 x Eheim 2232 , 1 x Eheim 2236

Stones for Iwagumi
Seeking for rocks these days, trying to get from mother nature,
but really hard to get a nice one.
Finally I decided to buy, bought these from a landscaping company
near Sungai Buloh, cost me RM 4.5 per Kg,
quite expansive, but I quite like the texture on it.
The boss says these are import frm china,
and they only have limited stock becoz they r not allow to export dy ..
英石 Ying stone .. cool.
I got about 100 kg, only found that I bought too much after setup ..

the making of PMDD
for saving cost purpose, I planning to make fertilizer my own, this is one kind of very popular DIY fertilizer call PMDD ( Pool Man’s Dosing Drops ).
I got a recipe frm the internet,
PMDD Formula:
Magnesium sulfate - MgSO4.7H2O (Epsom salt) 55g
Potassium sulfate - K2SO4 - 23g
Potassium nitrate - KNO3 - 10g
Chelated iron - Fe - 8g
and mixed wif 500 ml of water.
But I cant get KNO3 for the moment, so I use CaNO3 to replace it. and dose the chelated iron separately.
